Zeppelin University
We are particularly strongly committed to the area of education. We founded Zeppelin University in 2003. Today, we rank among the chief supporters of this state-recognized private university where 850 young people are currently pursuing third-level education in the form of Bachelor and Master degrees. These students are currently guided by 45 professors. Just under half of the chairs are funded by endowments. In September 2011, the university was the first private university in Germany to receive the right to grant doctoral degrees – and Friedrichshafen has now officially received the status of a university town. Zeppelin University has long occupied top positions in German university rankings. It is valued not only by its students, but also by the citizens of the Friedrichshafen who benefit from a range of events and classes organized by the university. Zeppelin has given the university more than a name; we are regularly in touch with the university, the professors and the students.
